The story begins when the first sports shoe was introduced on July 14, 1916. And just like that ... you guessed it ... the shoe brand "Keds". Shoe type was then known in English as "sneakers". Immediately following the Keds, in 1917 - Converse Rubber Company were also making rubber shoes. The company is what we now know as the maker of sports shoes brand "Converse".
